Kathleen Ritzman, a member of the Yaquina Toastmasters Club, took third place in the District 7 table topics finals contest. District 7 covers western and central Oregon, SW Washington and part of Northern California. There were eight division finalists who competed in table topics. The topic that all contestants were given was “November is novel writer’s month. You have a great idea for a novel. Your first line is: “Hester was well liked by her colleagues, but no one knew the secret she kept.”
